Within this prestigious client, Based serves as a consultant for Asset Management (ASM), including implementing BIM. At Schiphol, we are closely involved in transitioning to a BIM working methodology based on open standards. The focus is on how 'as-built' information can be better transferred and validated by the various parties to improve digital asset management.

Based was initially asked by Schiphol to support in designing a BIM working methodology within Schiphol. During these first developments, we worked closely with the employees of Schiphol to create our own IDM & BIM protocols. After this, the team grew, and so did Based’s role. We worked on the further development of BIM and designing a new Information Management strategy for the Asset Management department. This included the development of Linked Data and the establishment of Schiphol's object library. As a result, the management of the assets is being approached differently, allowing more efficient gains to be made. 

Based supports Schiphol with: 

• Establishing and further developing Schiphol-IDM & BIM protocols, from business and project needs
• Working on the IM strategy based on Linked-Data and open standards 
• Setting up an OTL and aligning with the IDM 
• Project support and application 
• Support in model validation and verification
• Innovation: a.o. integration BIM data to other Schiphol systems (GIS/FMIS/GBS/etc.).
